Month 1 — Foundation (October 2026)
Week 1–2 — QT Arithmetic: Percentages, Profit & Loss, Simple and Compound Interest, Ratio and Proportion. These 4 topics cover 40–50% of the QT section. Use R.S. Aggarwal or Arun Sharma LOD 1–2.
Week 3 — QT: TSD, Work, DI: Time Speed Distance, Time and Work, and Data Interpretation (Tables, Bar Graphs). DI in CMAT is calculation-heavy — practice reading charts fast.
Week 4 — LR Basics: Linear Arrangements, Circular Arrangements, Blood Relations. These 3 topics alone cover 10–12 questions in the LR section.
GA from Day 1: Read one business newspaper (Economic Times or Business Standard) or 2 to 3 news app articles daily. This habit cannot be built in the last month.
Month 2 — Complete Coverage (November 2026)
Week 5 — LR Advanced: Syllogisms, Critical Reasoning (Strengthen/Weaken/Assumption), Puzzles, Input-Output. Critical Reasoning is the highest-value LR topic in CMAT.
Week 6 — Language Comprehension: Para Jumbles (2 types — sentence-based and paragraph-based), Grammar (Error Spotting, Sentence Correction), Vocabulary roots from Word Power Made Easy.
Week 7 — GA Structured Revision: Compile a static GK list: important awards, government schemes (PM schemes, Budget 2026 highlights), RBI policies, Indian start-up unicorns. This is your reference sheet for the exam.
Week 8 — First Full Mock: Attempt your first complete CMAT mock. Analyse section-wise — which section dropped your score the most? That section gets double attention in Month 3.
Month 3 — Mock-First Mode (December 2026)
Monday and Thursday: Full CMAT mock (all 5 sections including optional)
Tuesday and Friday: Mock analysis — categorise errors as concept gap, speed issue, or careless mistake
Wednesday: Revise the weak section from the last mock
Saturday: GA revision — current affairs from last 3 months
Sunday: Light revision only
Target: 12 to 15 full mocks across Month 3. Score trend should show improvement by Week 10–11. If score plateaus, the issue is almost always mock analysis quality — not effort.

CMAT vs CAT — Should You Prepare for Both?
Yes — if you are also targeting CAT 2026 (November 2026), preparing for both simultaneously is efficient. CMAT and CAT share QA and Verbal preparation. The additional effort for CMAT is: GA (30 min daily) and LR Arrangements practise (CAT has less arrangement-based LR). A CAT-prepared student needs only 3 to 4 weeks of additional CMAT-specific preparation.

JBIMS Mumbai requires 99+ percentile (around 320+ out of 400). SIMSREE requires 95+ percentile (around 270–280). GIM Goa requires 85+ percentile (around 230–240). For most good CMAT colleges, 200+ out of 400 (80th percentile) is the target.
