A good study plan is the single biggest differentiator between students who clear IPMAT and those who fall short. Here is the exact roadmap our student Tanisq Chouhan used to score AIR 1 in JIPMAT.
Phase 1 — Foundation (Months 1 to 6)
Goal: Build strong concept base. QA: Complete NCERT Class 9-10 Maths all chapters. VA: Read 1 editorial daily, learn 10 new words per day using Norman Lewis. LR for Rohtak: Basic puzzles and introduction to Seating Arrangements. Daily time: 2 to 3 hours.
Phase 2 — Core Preparation (Months 7 to 14)
Goal: Cover full IPMAT syllabus. QA: RS Aggarwal then Arun Sharma, topic by topic. VA: RC passage practice daily, Para Jumbles, Grammar rules. LR: Complete LR sets all types. Monthly milestones: Months 7-8 complete Arithmetic. Months 9-10 complete Algebra and Number System. Months 11-12 Geometry and Modern Maths. Months 13-14 full VA revision and LR mastery. Daily time: 3 to 4 hours.
Phase 3 — Intensive Mock Practice (Months 15 to 20)
Goal: Convert knowledge into exam performance. Take 1 to 2 full mock tests per week. Analyze every mock using 3-step method: score analysis, question analysis (concept gap vs silly mistake vs time issue), and time analysis. Daily time: 4 to 5 hours.
Phase 4 — Final Sprint (Months 21 to 24)
December 2027: 3 mocks per week, full revision of priority 1 topics. January 2028: 3 to 4 mocks per week, sectional mock tests. February 2028: Register for exam, maintain routine. March 2028: Reduce new content, only revision. April 2028: Download admit card, mock exam simulations. May 2028: Exam time.
Tanisq Chouhan's Routine (AIR 1 JIPMAT)
Class 11 (Year 1): 2 to 2.5 hours daily, focused on foundation concepts only. Class 12 first 6 months: 3 to 4 hours daily, core topics plus first mocks. Class 12 last 3 months: 5+ hours daily, intensive mocks and revision. His key insight: the error log was the real game-changer. He never repeated the same mistake twice.
