5G Indoor Network Infrastructure — Informational Technical Report
1. Introduction to 5G Indoor Network Infrastructure
5G indoor network infrastructure refers to the systems, devices, and architectural solutions designed to deliver high-speed, low-latency 5G connectivity inside buildings. Since a significant portion of mobile data usage occurs indoors—such as in offices, shopping malls, hospitals, airports, and residential complexes—ensuring strong indoor coverage is essential for consistent network performance.
Unlike outdoor deployments that rely on macro cell towers, indoor 5G networks require specialized infrastructure to overcome signal attenuation caused by walls, glass, and building materials.
