1. IPMAT 2027 Eligibility Criteria
Before starting preparation, confirm you meet the eligibility conditions. IIM Indore only checks Class 12 marks. IIM Rohtak checks both Class 10 and Class 12. Maximum age is 20 years for General category by July 31, 2027.
2. IPMAT 2027 Syllabus
The IPMAT syllabus covers Quantitative Ability and Verbal Ability. IIM Rohtak adds Logical Reasoning. The highest-frequency QA topics are Percentages, P&L, TSD, Coordinate Geometry, and Functions. For VA, RC and Para Jumbles carry the most marks.

3. Best Books for IPMAT 2027
One book done properly beats five books done partially. For QA: Arun Sharma for arithmetic, NCERT 11–12 for Coordinate Geometry and Functions. For VA: Wren and Martin for grammar, The Hindu daily for reading comprehension (free). For Rohtak LR: R.S. Aggarwal Logical Reasoning.
4. How to Prepare for IPMAT 2027
3 months is enough if you prioritise correctly. 80% of your marks come from 30% of the syllabus. Month 1: arithmetic and algebra foundation. Month 2: remaining topics and first mock. Month 3: mock-first mode — 3 full tests per week with deep analysis.
5. IPMAT Mock Test Strategy 2027
Start mocks in Week 8 of preparation. Target 3 full-length mocks per week in the final month. The mock analysis session is as important as the mock itself — students who only take mocks plateau at 80 percentile; those who analyse every mock consistently break 90.
6. IPMAT Score vs Percentile & Cutoff 2027
For IIM Indore General category, you need approximately 220–235 out of 360 (61–65%). The Short Answer section (15 questions, no negative marking, 60 marks) is the most important — maximise it first.

7. IPMAT Previous Year Papers & Trends
From 2022 to 2026, Percentages, P&L, TSD, and Coordinate Geometry consistently appear in 10+ questions per paper. For VA, inference-based RC and Para Jumbles carry the highest marks. Understanding trends is more valuable than solving papers blindly.
8. IPMAT Dropper Guide 2027
A drop year only works if you fix the specific gaps — not just study harder. Most droppers repeat the same approach that failed the first time. Identify whether you lost marks to concept gaps, speed issues, or mock strategy before building your plan.

What is IPMAT and which IIMs offer it?
IPMAT is the entrance exam for the 5-year Integrated Programme in Management (IPM) — a BBA+MBA programme offered by IIM Indore and IIM Rohtak. Students join directly after Class 12 and graduate with an MBA from IIM in 5 years.
Is IPMAT difficult to crack?
IPMAT Indore accepts around 150 students from 30,000+ applicants — under 0.5% acceptance rate. The concepts are Class 11–12 level, but the speed and accuracy required make it competitive. With the right strategy, 3–6 months of focused preparation is sufficient.
Can a student with 58% in Class 12 apply for IPMAT?
No — for General and NC-OBC categories the minimum is 60% in Class 12. SC/ST/PwD candidates need 55%. Students borderline on marks should check the detailed eligibility guide.
How many attempts are allowed for IPMAT?
IIM Indore allows a maximum of 3 lifetime attempts, subject to the age limit of 20 years (General/OBC) or 22 years (SC/ST/PwD) by July 31. IIM Rohtak has no stated attempt limit but the same age restriction applies.
What is the difference between IPMAT Indore and IPMAT Rohtak?
IIM Indore's IPMAT has 3 sections (QA SA + QA MCQ + VA MCQ) for 360 marks. IIM Rohtak adds a Logical Reasoning section. Indore does not check Class 10 marks; Rohtak checks both Class 10 and Class 12. Indore allows only 3 lifetime attempts; Rohtak has no stated limit.
